Community invited to UW Outreach Day at Burlington High School April 26
MADISON — UW–Madison and UW-Extension are inviting the public to join them at Burlington High School on Friday, April 26 as part of a statewide effort to bring the research and resources of the UW to communities across Wisconsin.
A wide variety of “Exploration Stations” will be set up in the gym with displays and information from areas ranging from the UW Library System to the Space Science and Engineering Center. The exhibits will also feature special demonstrations such as cheese and sausage making, and provide students and parents with opportunities to discuss different fields of study available at UW–Madison and find out about some of the resources available through local Extension offices.
The community is welcome to attend UW Outreach Day, which is sponsored by UW–Madison University Relations. The exhibits on display in the high school gym will be open to the public from 3 until 5 p.m. There will be a fundraising supper at 5 p.m., to benefit the Burlington Music Department, and the day will wrap up with a free community concert at 6 p.m. in the auditorium by UW–Madison’s renowned student A Cappella group, Redefined.
“We are excited to bring the UW to Burlington and to give students and the general public an opportunity to see how innovation and collaboration at the university are having a positive impact on the lives of citizens throughout Wisconsin,” says Vince Sweeney, UW–Madison vice chancellor for university relations.
