Cardinal to honor alumni at dinner

April 24, 2000

The Daily Cardinal student newspaper’s alumni association plans to honor prominent alumni in journalism at its second annual Alumni Awards weekend May 12-13 in Madison.

The weekend of events is planned to celebrate the past and encourage the future of The Daily Cardinal. Last year, more than 100 alumni attended.

Awards nominees this year include a group of women who ran the paper during World War II; Lowell Bergman, the subject of an Academy Award-nominated film, “The Insider”; and a pair of young men whose initiative saved The Daily Cardinal in the 1990s.

Founded in 1998, the Daily Cardinal Alumni Association is an organization initiated and managed by Cardinal alums.

Events will be held on campus at Grainger Hall or the Fluno Center for Executive Education. For more information about award nominees or for attending the events, contact Anthony T. Sansone, (877) 843-3222.
