Campus buses detoured for six weeks due to construction

June 15, 2009

Because of a utility construction project under way just east of Bascom Hall, Observatory Drive has been closed to traffic between North Park Street and North Charter Street. It is expected to remain closed for approximately six weeks, which means late July, weather permitting.

Metro Transit Route 80 will detour from West Johnson Street on to Lake Street, Langdon Street and North Park Street. Passengers affected by the route change should catch the 80 bus on Langdon Street in front of the Memorial Union or on Linden Drive at Van Hise Hall.

Route 85, known as the South Campus Circulator, will detour onto North Park Street, University Avenue, Babcock Drive, Observatory Drive and North Charter Street. Passengers can catch the detoured Route 85 buses at their regular stop in front of the Memorial Union or at the temporary stop on Observatory Drive at North Charter Street.
