Brazilian dance to enliven Union

January 31, 2006

Should your taste run more to samba than jig, three bands will perform authentic Brazilian music on Friday, Feb. 3.

Pagee Go Go, Handphibians and Machimbombo will be on stage starting at 9 p.m. in the Memorial Union. Check Today in the Union for exact room. Free samba lessons also will be offered. For more information, contact Kirstin Krudwig in International Student Services at 265-5236 or kmkrudwig@wisc.edu.

Visual art from the heartland of Brazil will be on display in the Memorial Union’s Porter Butts and Class of 1925 Galleries through Friday, Feb. 17. The goal of the exhibition, part of the Centro-Oesta (Mid-West) initiative between Madison and Brasilia, Brazil, is to use art to promote cultural exchange.
