Big Ten Battleground Poll to air again this weekend

October 24, 2008 By Jenny Price

The Big Ten Network will rebroadcast “Big Ten Battleground: Campaign 2008” on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. CDT (8 p.m. EDT), marking the first time academic programming will appear in prime time on the network.

The show features analysis of results from the second Big Ten Battleground Poll, which measured support for the presidential candidates in eight crucial Midwest states: Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota.

This rare regional poll was co-directed by University of Wisconsin–Madison political scientists Charles Franklin and Ken Goldstein with the cooperation of colleagues from participating Big Ten universities. Universities participating in the partnership are the University of Illinois, the University of Iowa, the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, Penn State University and UW–Madison.
