Big Badger Auction offers one-of-a-kind finds

September 25, 2007

How could you get a "Miracle on Ice" U.S. Olympic hockey star to come to your home? Or have Babcock Hall ice cream delivered to your door? What about a private lunch with UW Football Coach Bret Bielema?

The Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) will offer a chance at all this and more during the online Big Badger Auction, Sept. 26-Oct. 10.

University of Wisconsin–Madison alumni and friends will begin bidding at noon CDT on Wednesday, Sept. 26, for a collection of treasures including:

  • Custom-made red-and-white Allen Edmonds shoes;
  • Lunch with Badger Football Coach Bret Bielema;
  • UW football and hockey tickets;
  • Badger red iPod Nano;
  • Babcock Hall ice cream;
  • Deluxe weekend getaways;
  • And many more fabulous finds.

This is WAA’s second Big Badger Auction. "Alumni told us how much they loved being part of the auction, so we just had to do it again," says WAA President and CEO Paula Bonner MS’78. "This is a fun way for Badgers to get some really unique things, and at the same time show support for the worldwide UW community."

The Big Badger Auction is open to anyone seeking unique experiences and merchandise. Proceeds benefit WAA’s chapters, programs, and mission to make meaningful connections for Badgers around the globe.

The Big Badger Auction is also still accepting donations and potential donors can participate online through the "Donate Now" feature.

Founded in 1861, WAA offers UW alumni and friends a wide variety of services, including the award-winning On Wisconsin Magazine, Badger Insider Magazine, career services, international travel opportunities and lifelong learning events. Learn more at uwalumni.com.
