What’s on the menu at Global Café? For UW–Madison students looking to learn more about different cultures, the answer is: a little bit of everything. Sponsored by International Student Services (ISS), the events bring UW–Madison students together for food, conversation and cultural exchange. Each café is hosted by a different student organization and focuses on a unique theme and activities designed to spark curiosity, conversation and community.
“Part of Global Café is trying to make international experiences more accessible,” says Anna Nordhaus, ISS’s Global Café staff coordinator. “For example, you don’t need to buy a plane ticket to learn more about a piece of Malaysian culture. You can start by coming to Global Café.”
