Q: I heard rumors that the university was planning on demolishing Ogg Hall and Mosse Humanities Building in the near future. Has the university published a master plan?A: The rumors that you have been hearing are true. As part of the new campus master plan, during the next 20 years the UW–Madison campus will see an expanded arts and humanities district in the lower- campus area, more intense development of the west end of campus and the removal of aging 1960s and 1970s buildings, including Ogg Hall and the Humanities Building.

To find out more detailed information about the upcoming renovations, visit http://www.uc.wisc.edu/masterplan.

Q: Does UW–Madison have a supercomputer on campus? If not, does it have direct access to any supercomputer inthe Midwest or in the continental United States?A: The Engine Research Center (ERC) owns both of the university’s supercomputers. Located in Engineering Hall, the ERC conducts research on the fundamentals and applications of internal combustion engines and helps provide information to major motor vehicle manufacturers, including General Motors, Ford and Honda. To learn more about it, visit http://www.erc.wisc.edu/.
