Observatory Drive traffic advisory

From Monday, Aug. 7, through Sunday, Aug. 13, Observatory Drive from the eastern edge of Babcock Drive to the Soils building will be closed for repaving. The short segment will reopen on Monday morning, Aug. 14, weather permitting.

Light traffic may be possible during the Aug. 12-13 weekend as the asphalt sets, but no trucks or other heavy vehicles will be allowed to use the roadway until Monday morning.

While the road work is being done, there will be no access to Lot 38 behind King Hall, and drivers heading west on Observatory Drive from Charter Street will find that they have to turn around before reaching the construction zone.

Access to the Porter Boathouse and lakeshore residence halls in the area will be maintained from the west via Elm and Observatory drives and the Babcock/Observatory Drive intersection.
