Salsa celebrates its origins at Union Theater

November 16, 2004

Musicians from the neighborhood where salsa was born and, some say, grew up will play at the Wisconsin Union Theater on Saturday, Nov. 20.

Pianist-composer Oscar Hernandez heads the Spanish Harlem Orchestra. He is perhaps best known for writing the theme to the television series “Sex and the City.”

The show begins at 8 p.m. A dance party, free to ticket holders, will follow the performance. Tickets start at $20 general/$10 UW–Madison students and are available at the Wisconsin Union Theater Box Office, 262-2201.
