Library offers workshops on records management

November 2, 2004

Nancy Kunde, a university records officer, is presenting three free workshops to faculty and staff on how to manage records.

The first workshop discusses how long records should be kept, how to write retention schedules (RDAs) and whether records should be destroyed or saved when they are no longer needed. The second session explores the option of off-site storage and is especially designed for records center liaisons from each department. A final session addresses electronic information, from strategies to administrative rules.

The first workshop is Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 9-11 a.m. The second and third workshops are from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, and Friday, Nov. 12, respectively. All sessions take place in Memorial Library, Room 126. Advanced registration is encouraged. For more information, call 265-9287 or e-mail recmgmt@library.wisc.edu.
