Eco-friendly guest rooms come to Union South

February 16, 2011

When the new Union South opens on April 15, the 60-room hotel on its fourth and fifth floors will feature the latest technology to save energy, conserve water and recycle disposable products.

The rooms, much improved over the ones they replace at the old Union South, offer amenities and prices comparable to other local hotels: wi-fi, ethernet, large-screen TVs, a fitness room, and extended-stay rooms with kitchenette and living quarters.

Manager Jessica Johnson says, “Our guest rooms are stylish, with spectacular views of Union’s South Plaza, historic Camp Randall stadium or the downtown area of Madison. For work or play, our comfortable guest rooms at the Wisconsin Union Hotel are sure to provide a memorable experience.”

Those who can reserve rooms at the new hotel include Wisconsin Union members; those who are attending university-related functions, such as a conference or seminar; guests of a university department; those involved in board meetings; or those affiliated with a university department, such as serving as a guest speaker or recruiter.
