CFYE conference coming up Nov. 12

November 3, 2010

The annual First-Year Conference is designed to provide UW–Madison faculty, graduate students and academic staff an opportunity to think and learn about first-year students and their academic success.

The 2010 event will be held from 7:30 a.m.–1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12. This year’s theme is “Creating an Impact,” with the keynote address coming from Constance Staley, a professor of communication at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

The conference is an opportunity for faculty, staff and graduate students to discuss innovative research and practice regarding transitioning students on campus (freshmen and transfer students). Conference presentations address a variety of topics on curricular and co-curricular student experiences.

There is no registration cost for campus faculty, staff and graduate students. Non-UW–Madison faculty, staff and graduate students must pay a $40 fee. View more info or register.
