Brown bag to address challenges faced by academic staff supervisors

January 27, 2010

The College of Letters & Science Committee on Academic Staff Issues (CASI) will host a brown-bag brainstorm session to discuss the challenges that academic staff professionals face when supervising other academic staff professionals.

The brown bag will be held from noon–1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, in 260 Bascom.

A follow-up to the October session on climate, the open forum will be moderated by CASI members and is designed for academic staff.

Questions to be covered include: What constitutes good leadership for academic staff who supervise other academic staff? How do those supervisors cultivate an environment that balances recognizing the professionalism of academic staff with creativity and efficiency? What mistakes can supervisors make in trying to create this balance?

The event is open to all L&S academic staff members.
