University announces new online airfare booking tool

January 27, 2010

UW–Madison has announced a change in online travel booking procedures.

As of Jan. 25, UW–Madison employees were granted access to a new Web-based airfare booking tool called Cliqbook. The university continues to partner with Fox World Travel, replacing the old Travelport system with the new Cliqbook product. The enhanced system offers new features that promise to improve the ease of booking, making organizing trips for travelers easier than ever.

Cliqbook should be given first priority when booking authorized university business travel online. Some of the new product benefits include:

  • compatibility with all standard Internet browsers, including Firefox, Safari, Netscape and Internet Explorer;
  • user-friendly search features, including an all-inclusive airline fare matrix (Southwest Airlines included), which displays by schedule, much like commercial booking sites and;
  • pre-booking access to existing unused nonrefundable tickets which will allow travelers to make their flight selection based on inventory.

Cliqbook also incorporates all of the previous advantages offered by Travelport including lowest airfare available, electronic fare auditor, tracking of unused tickets, the ability to cancel purchased tickets until 5 p.m. the next day and more.

Webinar orientation sessions and in-person familiarization sessions are being offered by Fox World Travel. Training session registration and further product information can be found at UW–Madison Cliqbook.
