Interim admissions director announced

September 9, 2009

Tom Reason, associate director of admissions, has been named interim director of the Office of Admissions, effective Aug. 1.

Reason’s appointment follows a six-month period during which the admissions office merged with Visitor & Information Programs (VIP) under the direction of Steve Amundson.

With the realignment, the Office of Admissions returns as an independent function within the Division of Enrollment Management, a division that is led by Vice Provost for Enrollment Management Joanne Berg. Vince Sweeney, vice chancellor for university relations, will oversee VIP.

Reason has been with the university for 26 years, holding positions in both the registrar’s office and the Office of Admissions. He was named associate director of operations in the admissions office in 2005, having served as an assistant director since 1991.

The university will conduct a national search for a director of admissions.
