UW-Madison places highly in reputation rankings

June 15, 2017 By Käri Knutson

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is again being recognized as one of the world’s top learning institutions this year, placing 32nd in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings. Last year, the university placed 35th.

The 2017 reputation rankings are based on the world’s largest invitation-only survey of senior, published academics, who were asked to name no more than 15 universities that they believe are the best for research and teaching in their field, based on their own experience. The survey was carried out between January and March, receiving a total of 10,566 responses from 137 countries.

Data will be used alongside 11 objective indicators to help create the THE World University Rankings 2017-18, which will be unveiled in September 2017.
