Bike valet parking service available at football games
Transportation Services and the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin will offer free bike valet parking at all Badger football games this season.
Fans who choose to bike instead of drive will be able to avoid traffic on the streets surrounding Camp Randall and will also be relieved of the hassle of finding a parking spot.
“The bike valet is hassle-free and located within a few blocks of the stadium,” says Amanda White, associate director of the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin. “Badger fans will arrive and the game stress-free and ready for fun.”
The bike valet is located in UW Lot 114 at 1420 Engineering Drive. The corral is open from one hour before kickoff to one hour after the end of the game. Though bikes will not be locked, they will be watched by valet attendants. All bikes must be claimed by one hour after the game ends or they will be impounded.
Dar Ward, a program specialist with Facilities Planning and Management, says the university was interested in having this service for a long time, and this opportunity arose with the Bicycle Federation.
“Transportation Services recognizes that with football games comes a greater than normal amount of people coming to a single location,” she says. “We need to accommodate for those folks who use the bike as transportation.”
