Workshop hones math problem-solving skills

October 6, 2004 By Dennis Chaptman

The use of video-based mathematical problems to stimulate problem-solving skills is the topic of a School of Education workshop for educators on Friday, Oct. 22, at Lodi Middle School. The featured presenter will be Brian Bottge, associate professor, Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education. Joining him will be Enrique Rueda of the Wisconsin Center for Education Research, who developed much of an interactive video, and three teachers at Lodi Middle School.

The video format allows students, including those with reading difficulties, the opportunity to practice skills that have applicability in the work environment and everyday life.
