Wisconsin Alumni Association takes UW across the state
In the spirit of the Wisconsin Idea, the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) will be in cities statewide this spring educating, entertaining and talking with alumni about the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
By hosting Founders’ Day events, UW for You programs (formerly On the Road), listening sessions with UW administrative faculty and other programs, WAA is helping take UW–Madison to alumni living outside of Dane County.
Founders’ Day events are hosted annually by UW–Madison alumni chapters to bring the latest in UW teaching and research to alumni in their hometowns, raise funds for student scholarships and celebrate the founding of the university. Proceeds benefit each chapter’s local scholarship fund.
New this year are listening sessions in Green Bay, Sheboygan, Marshfield and other Wisconsin cities, offering alumni a chance to engage in dialogue about the university with Chancellor John Wiley, Provost Patrick Farrell and other faculty members.
Information on these programs, as well as a schedule of events, can be found by contacting Mike Fahey, WAA’s director of state relations, at MikeFahey@uwalumni.com or (608) 263-2645.
The Wisconsin Alumni Association has been serving UW–Madison and its graduates since 1861. WAA provides an array of services, programs and benefits to connect, enrich and serve alumni of UW–Madison.
