WISCAPE forums examine national education issues

September 9, 2003

The Wisconsin Center for the Advancement of Postsecondary Education offers two forums that will prompt thoughtful discussion on issues facing campuses across the country:

  • “Bricks and Mortarboards: The Design of a Campus” is a public forum featuring Adam Gross, a national leader in campus design and planning. Gross will explore how universities have handled the contemporary challenges of campus design. Public lecture: Thursday, Sept. 25, 12-1:30 p.m., Tripp Commons, Memorial Union.
  • “The Long-Term Economic Effects of Declining State Support for Higher Education,” WISCAPE’s second conference, will feature Philip A. Trostel, associate professor of economics at the University of Maine. Public lecture: Wednesday, Oct. 15, 12 – 1:30 p.m., Tripp Commons, Memorial Union.

The center is sponsoring brown bags, professional education courses and forums about postsecondary educational leadership. Information: 265-6342, wiscape-info@education.wisc.edu or http://www.wiscape.wisc.edu.
