Web site makes classic UW images available for purchase

The University of Wisconsin–Madison has launched http://www.uwbadgerphotos.com, a Web site developed and operated by the university’s contract partner, Replay Photos LLC. Through the site, Wisconsin fans can purchase athletic and campus photography for themselves – or send them directly to friends and family as gifts – with the click of a mouse.

Replay Photos currently is working with 20 Division I universities, including Duke University, Virginia Tech, the University of North Carolina and The Ohio State University.

Replay Photos President Sue Harnett says she is thrilled to have the Badgers on board. She hired former Wisconsin football standout Kevin Stemke as an account executive.

“(Stemke) is well aware of how much demand there will be for images of the university and its athletic history,” Harnett says.

Stemke agrees. “We’re confident that Badger fans will see the photographs as perfect home or office decorations, or as ideal gifts for friends and family. As a Wisconsin alum, I know it will be meaningful to our fans that their purchases are helping the University financially,” he says.

The Web site displays more than 100 photographs, ranging from the Badger football team’s entrance to Camp Randall Stadium to shots of Bascom Hall. All of the images were taken by professional photographers and are reproduced in three sizes: 9 by 12, 12 by 16 and 15 by 20. Premium quality framing and matting options are available, and various combinations of photos, frames and mattings may be constructed by the viewer on the Web site, allowing the product to be seen in its desired, customized form before purchase. Unframed photographs also are available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds from university images will go back to the institution as a royalty fee.
