WAA picks trivia winners

March 29, 2002

Alumni from Green Bay and Chicago are the winners of the online March Madness trivia contest, sponsored by the Wisconsin Alumni Association in conjunction with the UW System.

Jack Chase of Green Bay and Barbara Rizzi of Chicago are the two grand-prize winners. Each will receive a basketball signed by the members of the UW–Madison men’s basketball team, who claimed a share of the Big Ten Conference championship this year for the first time since 1947.

Chase and Rizzi were chosen from winners who correctly answered a daily multiple-choice trivia question March 11-22 on WAA’s Web site, http://www.uwalumni.com. Two winners were picked each day from those submitting correct answers, with daily winners receiving a $10 long-distance phone cards. At the end of the contest, WAA randomly selected Chase and Rizzi from contestants who submitted correct responses.

“March Madness is always an exciting time each year, and our trivia contest used the excitement surrounding the NCAA basketball tournaments to educate UW–Madison alumni and Wisconsin citizens about their alma mater and the UW System as a whole, including its positive impact in Wisconsin,” says Paula Bonner, WAA’s president and CEO. “We appreciate the UW System’s partnership with us on this fun and educational contest.”
