UW–Madison goes live with Oracle Campus Solutions software

August 27, 2008

UW–Madison went live with Oracle’s v9 Campus Solutions software on Aug. 11. It marked the successful culmination of almost a year’s worth of collaborative development and testing between student service departments and the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) technical support.

The overall goal of the Integrated Student Information System (ISIS) is to enhance functionality and flexibility of administrative services affecting a student’s entire academic life. Since 1998, ISIS has provided the data processing structure for the offices of Admissions, Registrar, Student Financial Services and Bursar. It also provides the background data used by the university’s data warehouse, University Housing, the Query Library and all other areas requiring student data.

An extensive campus communication effort mirrored special training measures to help both staff and students prepare for the upgrade. All support materials, including a v9 navigation tutorial, troubleshooting document, training demos and open labs, are posted at http://www.isis.wisc.edu.
