May 27, 2009

Numerous UW–Madison students have been honored with the university’s most prestigious scholarships, fellowships and awards for the 2008-09 academic year.

A full listing of the awards and the winners follows below. Winners are from Wisconsin unless otherwise noted.

  • Four UW–Madison students have received the 2008-09 Herfurth-Kubly Award for Initiative and Efficiency. Each of the four students to receive the $2,000 award was chosen out of a pool of 103 seniors nominated for the award.

The Herfurth-Kubly Award is the highest university-wide honor a UW–Madison senior can receive. Students are selected through highly competitive consideration of academic achievements, personal initiative and integrity, community service, constructive leadership and verbal communication skills.
