UW-Madison students of color to connect with alumni

September 28, 2005 By Cheryl Porior-Mayhew

UW–Madison alumni will share their real-world experiences with current students of color at a special Career Links reception on Thursday, Oct. 6.

Career Links was established to foster a deeper connection between alumni and students of color, and to provide a casual atmosphere for discussion. This seventh annual event, sponsored by the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) and the College of Letters and Science/School of Human Ecology Career Services, gives students a chance to talk one-on-one with alumni about their career paths and life after college. It also gives alumni an opportunity to share their advice about the job search and current issues in the workplace before students leave campus.

The free event will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Ameritech Lounge at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided. UW–Madison students, alumni, faculty and staff who wish to attend must RSVP by Friday, Sept. 30, by calling WAA’s P.J. Hoesly at (608) 262-9646.
