UW contributes to ‘Extreme Makeover’ episode on Oct. 12
When “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” airs on ABC this Sunday night at 7 p.m., viewers may notice some familiar items in the Anders-Beatty home.
UW-Madison, UW Athletics, Bucky’s Locker Room and the University Book Store teamed up to provide some memorabilia and clothing items for the family and its new residence. Replay Photos, based in Durham, North Carolina, also contributed to the show. Former Badger punter Kevin Stemke is director of business development for Replay Photos-Midwest.
Why UW–Madison items, you might ask?
The eldest son in the family transferred to UW–Madison this fall from UW-Richland as part of the university’s Connections program. The program allows Wisconsin residents to start out at a partner college or university and finish their bachelor’s degrees at UW–Madison, giving them a UW–Madison student status from the beginning.
And apparently, like so many other Wisconsinites, the family members are big fans of Wisconsin athletics.
There is no indication of which items, if any, may have been included in the show. That has been kept under wraps and won’t be revealed until Sunday night.
“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” which has won back-to-back Emmy Awards as Best Reality Program (non-competitive), is entering its 6th season on ABC. The program is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. Anthony Dominici is the executive producer; and David Goldberg is the president of Endemol USA.
