Utility work changes traffic flow

February 24, 2010

Utility work on North Park Street will affect traffic flow in the area between Langdon Street and Johnson Street, from around March 15 to April 9, campus planners say.

During the work:

  • Two-way traffic will be maintained for all portions of Park Street.
  • Traffic will be reduced to one-lane only with flaggers on Park Street just east of Langdon Street for approximately one week. Please avoid driving in this area if possible.
  • One southbound lane of Park Street between University Avenue and Johnson Street will be closed to allow for work near Grainger Hall. Northbound traffic and the bus stop on Park Street at Vilas Hall will not be affected. Access to the Grainger Hall loading dock and the southbound bus stop on Park Street at Grainger Hall will also be maintained.

Related utility work will continue on the eastern portion of the campus for the summer starting May 17. This work will require closing Observatory Drive and Park Street between University Avenue and Johnson Street. Also, Langdon Street and Park Street between Langdon and University Avenue will be restricted to one-way traffic only. More information will be available about these changes soon.
