Utility construction to begin near Library Mall

A new phase of underground utility construction is expected to begin on Library Mall this week in an effort to improve the campus infrastructure.

Construction crews have begun their work on Library Mall near the Memorial Library, and work will proceed southward to the East Campus Mall. The work will continue through June 2009.

Crews will maintain pedestrian access east and west along the State Street Mall during the construction period, officials say. The project is aimed at increasing utility capacity and improving reliability in the east campus area.
