Union Theater family packages available

The Wisconsin Union Theater’s Family Savings program kicks off with two different upcoming shows.

First is the concert by Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Edo de Waart, which includes Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 7,” Brahms’ “Double Concerto for Violin and Cello” and Mozart’s “Overture to Don Giovanni.” The concert will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9.

Next is the 85-member Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company. This orchestra and dance troupe are a must-see for anyone who loves Eastern European culture and performing arts and is sure to please spectators of any age. The show is at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

For these and all other Family Savings shows this season, up to two youth tickets are only $12 with the purchase of one adult ticket. Youth are defined as people up to 18 years old (IDs will be checked). Future events include pianist Simone Dinnerstein on Friday, Dec. 4; Alonzo King’s Lines Contemporary Ballet, Saturday, Feb. 6; Nrityagram Indian Dance Ensemble on Saturday, March 6; and Marc Bamuthi Joseph’s “The Break/s” on Saturday, April 24.
