Undergraduate Symposium application deadline approaching

February 2, 2010 By Kiera Wiatrak

The 12th annual Undergraduate Symposium is inviting University of Wisconsin–Madison students from all disciplines to present, display or perform their work for members of the university and Madison community.

The symposium will take place on Thursday, April 15 in the Memorial Union. The event is free and open to the public.

The deadline to apply to present at the event is Friday, Feb. 19.

Students are encouraged to present work either individually or with other students from any area of study they believe would be of interest to the public.

Possibilities include results from research or theses, works of original art, literature or performance, or service learning projects.

“When you think about why students would come to Madison, it’s to participate in the world-class research on campus,” says Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning Aaron Brower. “A natural component of that is to be able to take your work and present it to your peers and the rest of the university community.”

More than 400 students presented their work at the Undergraduate Symposium in each of the past several years.
