Tickets now available for Holiday Dinner Concerts

November 2, 2004

Tickets are now available for the Wisconsin Union‘s Tudor Holiday Dinner Concerts.

Programs will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 1-5 and Dec. 7-8 at the Memorial Union.

The performance on Saturday, Dec. 4, is sold out.

Guests will enjoy an evening of fine dining, old English pageantry and rich choral presentations. The evening starts with a traditional Wassail Bowl — a mulled wine — and the presentation of the Boar’s Head, a Tudor tradition. A gourmet dinner follows. Accompanying the feast are strolling minstrels and the Philharmonic Chorus of Madison.

The menu includes a salad of chopped romaine with pecans, bleu cheese and a cranberry balsamic vinaigrette; a petite filet of beef tenderloin with a shrimp garnish; a double-stuffed baked potato; and green beans with red bell peppers and garlic (a vegetarian ravioli is also available upon request). Dinner is followed by the flaming figgy pudding ceremonial and a choral presentation.

Tickets are $37.50 for Union members and $42.50 for nonmembers for Sunday through Thursday shows, and $40 for members and $45 for nonmembers Friday and Saturday. Call 262-2201 or visit http://www.union.wisc.edu/tudordinners to order tickets.
