Homecoming to launch School of Medicine and Public Health centennial

The formal campus celebration of the School of Medicine and Public Health’s centennial will begin during the Homecoming football game between Wisconsin and Indiana. A special on-field ceremony will introduce the centennial to those in the stadium.

Norma Saldivar, who heads the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Directing Program in the University of Wisconsin–Madison Department of Theatre and Drama, has been appointed interim executive director of the UW–Madison Arts Institute.

New ophthalmologist joins School of Veterinary Medicine

Elizabeth Adkins, a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist, has joined the staff at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, effective Aug. 22.

Center to honor retiring director

The Center for the History of Print Culture in Modern America (CHPC) will honor its retiring director, James Danky, with a symposium on Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14.

University Club celebrates 100 years

At their meetings in March, the university's Faculty Senate and Academic Staff Assembly passed identical resolutions congratulating the University Club on its 100th anniversary. The resolutions noted that the club has been a well-respected presence on the campus since its founding in 1907, has contributed and continues to contribute to the social and cultural life of the university, and serves an important function as a venue for conversation and the exchange of ideas over lunch and for meetings of faculty and staff.
