Student robbed on Gilman Street

A UW–Madison student was robbed in the 100 block of West Gilman Street just after midnight this morning (Sept. 16).

He was struck several times, including a few times with a silver handgun. The suspects took his gray backpack, wallet and cell phone. The student sustained several lacerations to his face.

One suspect is described as a male black man in his 30s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, stocky build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored baggy jeans.

The second suspect is described as a male black in his 20s, 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a thin build, short hair, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored jeans.
