Statement by Chancellor David Ward on Ron Dayne winning the Heisman

“Ron Dayne winning the Heisman Trophy is a cause for everyone associated with the University of Wisconsin–Madison to feel tremendous pride. Ron is not only an extraordinary football player, but he is an extraordinary young man. He exemplifies the hard work, perseverance and desire to succeed that make Wisconsin a special place, and we are grateful for all that he has done for the university.”
