Stadium construction zones enforced

February 1, 2002

Beginning today, Feb. 1, the first phase of the Camp Randall Renovation Project gets under way, meaning parking and traffic changes in the stadium area.

Surface parking lots 17, 18 and 19 will be closed to parking and become staging areas for the duration of the project.

Other construction areas surrounding Camp Randall, the Field House, McClain Center and the Shell will restrict access to the buildings.

The following access will remain open throughout the project:

  • The welcome center will still be open to pedestrian access from Monroe Street. Pedestrian access from Monroe Street also leads to Athletic Department offices.
  • Visitors coming by vehicle can park in the Lot 17 ramp with access to the ramp from Randall Street and Engineering Drive.

A limited number of daily visitor stalls are available in the Lot 17 parking ramp. From Lot 17, an access path leads to the stadium tunnel, which will take visitors to the welcome center and athletics offices as well.

There will not be pedestrian access through the roadway between the Shell and the stadium because it will be a construction zone.
