See UW from a different perspective during Day on Campus

October 28, 2008

The fall leaves may make the university look different, but it’s the renowned faculty on campus that really offer opportunities to see things differently.

The Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) is once again inviting the public, alumni and friends to take another look at campus by attending Day on Campus on Friday, Nov. 14. This popular program, presented twice a year, offers the chance to learn from prominent UW faculty, mingle among colleagues and explore campus.

For $40 per person, participants are welcome to take part in three sessions scheduled for 1 p.m., 2:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., with multiple lectures to choose from during each session. All sessions will be held in the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St. in Madison. The registration deadline is Friday, Nov. 7.

The day will include a question-and-answer session with UW–Madison Chancellor Carolyn “Biddy” Martin. Other confirmed topics and speakers include:

  • The Changing Nature of Employment and Work: Steve Pogorzelski ’83, former President of Monster, North America;
  • The Manly G.I. Photo: Gender and Photojournalism in the Second World War: Louise Roberts, Professor, Department of History, 2008 UW–Madison Distinguished Teaching Award recipient;
  • Blending Art and Business — with a Special Solo Performance: Stephanie Jutt, Professor of Flute, School of Music;
  • Making Sense of the 2008 Elections: David Canon, Professor, Department of Political Science, 2008 UW–Madison Distinguished Teaching Award recipient;
