Rowing teams win national championships
For the first time in 18 years, Wisconsin men’s rowing can call itself national champions. Wisconsin’s varsity eight defeated No. 1-ranked Washington and the rest of the field Saturday, June 7, to win the 2008 Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships for the first time since 1990. Both races were held on a 2000-meter course on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J.
