Roundtable luncheons kick off

September 9, 2003

The fall UW–Madison Roundtable luncheon series gets under way Wednesday, Oct. 8, with remarks from Dean of Students Luoluo Hong. She says her presentation, “Millenials, Miracles and Mayhem: On the Changing Nature of Student Affairs Work,” will be a two-way discussion with the audience on the ever-changing role of the Offices of the Dean of Students.

“I hope people can better understand how student affairs works, and the role we play in fostering student learning and success outside the classroom,” Hong says.

The schedule also includes Michael Knetter, dean of the School of Business, on Wednesday, Nov. 12. His presentation is titled “The Practical, Theoretical, Specialized, Comprehensive, Invaluable, Unnecessary Business Degree: Business Education in the 21st Century.”

The series wraps up Wednesday, Dec. 10, with a performance by the UW women’s a cappella group, Tangled Up In Blue.

The events begin with a buffet lunch at 11:45 a.m. in Tripp Commons at Memorial Union. Each lunch costs $9 and reservations must be received by 4 p.m. one week before each presentation. Tickets to all three luncheons can be purchased for $25 before Wednesday, Oct. 1.
