Retiree sought for ombuds position

April 20, 2011

The Office of the Provost is seeking at least one retired UW–Madison employee for the ombuds program.

Ombuds John Mather, who has been with the program since 2008, will step down June 30. The ombuds service employs four retired UW–Madison employees who share one full-time position. Anyone interested can find additional information about the program, including the document “Purpose and Procedures,” and the most recent annual report, at http://www.ombuds.wisc.edu.

Applicants should send a letter of interest that includes relevant experience and a resume to Lindsey Kirk, Office of Diversity and Climate, 117 Bascom Hall, by May 13. Ombuds are selected from among interested retired faculty and academic and classified staff to achieve the greatest breadth and depth for the program.

For questions, leave a message at 265-9992 or contact one of the current ombuds directly: John Mather; Linda Newman; Richard Ralston; or Pat Wolleat.
