Renowned designers jury student work for exhibition

January 17, 2006

Students in textiles, apparel or interior design at UW–Madison will receive a sort of professional critique as part of the new exhibition “Design 2006,” opening on Friday, Jan. 27, in the Gallery of Design in the School of Human Ecology.

Judging this year were nationally recognized interior designer Randy Schmitgen of the architectural and engineering firm Flad and Associates, and clothing designer Terese Zache, whose work has been worn in the White House and at the Grammy Awards.

An opening reception will take place at 11 a.m. on Jan. 27 at the Gallery of Design. Awards will be presented at noon. The exhibition, free and open to the public, will be on view until Sunday, Feb. 26.
