Recent sightings: Steel Bridge Team

The UW–Madison Steel Bridge Team assembles its bridge entry during a timed practice in the foyer of the Engineering Centers Building on May 13, 2009.

The team was seconds away from achieving its goal of completing construction in under four minutes as members prepare to compete in the 2009 National Student Steel Bridge Competition May 22-23, 2009, hosted at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

The collegiate entries are judged on a variety of criteria, including team construction speed, and bridge appearance, economy, lightness, stiffness, structural efficiency and overall performance.
