Jeffrey Carter, left, and Nelson Reisdorf take center stage as Jessica Valadez Spruyt, a speech-language pathology graduate student in the Department of Communicative Disorders, leads participants in karaoke singing during IT’s (Integrated Treatment) Fun, a summer program for children with Down syndrome. The three-week program, developed by UW–Madison clinical professor Peggy Rosin, integrates evidence-based practice in speech language into literacy and performance-based activities centered on a weekly theme.
