Facilities managers Jeff Vogtschaller (left) and Duane Barnes hoist and position a 12-foot-tall stuffed polar bear being prepared for display atop the foyer entrance of Birge Hall July 24, 2015. The taxidermy specimen, legally hunted and imported by a private citizen many years ago, was donated to the Zoological Museum’s permanent collection after being bequeathed to the UW Foundation as a private estate gift. Vogtschaller is staff with the Department of Botany, and Barnes is staff with the Department of Zoology. (Photo by Jeff Miller/UW-Madison)
