Partners in Giving campaign raises nearly $3 million from state, campus

The latest report on the 2008 Partners in Giving campaign shows that state, UW-Madison and UW Hospital and Clinics employees have given $2,922,222 to the charity fundraising effort through their individual contributions and several special events.

On the university side, 3,542 out of 23,110 employees had given a total of $1,321,212 as of Jan. 26.

“I have been very impressed with the number of university employees who have contributed to the campaign during what has been a very difficult economic time,” says College of Letters and Science Dean Gary Sandefur, chair of the university’s campaign committee.

At UW Hospital and Clinics, 826 employees out of 6,465 potential givers contributed $231,251. On the state agency side of the campaign, 4,776 employees out of 13,985 contributed $1,369,759 to the campaign.

The total is $77,778 shy of the campaign’s goal of $3 million and $16,461 away from the last year’s final total of $2,938,683.
