Office Hours: Are you what you eat?

September 17, 2009

Is Michael Pollan’s book, “In Defense of Food” just food for thought, or is it a whole new direction the world should be going to address food and nutritional concerns?

Watch the episode

Irwin Goldman, professor of horticulture and vice dean of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, and Susan Nitzke, professor and chair of the Department of Nutritional Sciences, discuss the book, its claims and the modern American diet on Office Hours, a half-hour weekly talk show airing on the Big Ten Network. The Big Ten Network has a national audience of more than 100 million people.

The program is hosted by UW–Madison professor of political science Ken Goldstein and is produced by University Communications. Students in Goldstein’s class, Political Communication: Theory and Practice, assist with guest selection, research and writing for “Office Hours.”
