New Web site links campus services to businesses

June 15, 2001

A new Web site brings together a galaxy of UW–Madison information services available to business and the professions.

The site, http://www.library.wisc.edu/services/bizservice.htm, links users to these for-fee services provided by UW–Madison libraries:

  • Business Information Center, document delivery, research and literature searching service of the Business Library.
  • Document Delivery Service for Business, a journal article service of Steenbock Memorial Library, which covers agriculture, food science, plant/animal science, bioscience and veterinary medicine.
  • Medical Library Service, document delivery of Health Sciences Libraries.
  • Outlaw Document Delivery Service of the Law Library – the name combines outreach and law.
  • Wisconsin TechSearch, a document delivery and literature searching service of the Wendt Engineering Library.

“Together, these services receive more than 70,000 requests for information each year,” said Tom Murray, director of Wendt Engineering Library. “These services are especially helpful to high-tech startup companies, which must have the latest scientific information but often don’t have staff with the skills to search the world of information.”
