Multicultural Career Fair set Feb. 6

The second annual Multicultural Career Fair and Reception will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, in the Great Hall, Memorial Union, 800 Langdon St. The fair will run from 3-6:30 p.m. and a reception will follow in Tripp Commons.

This fair offers students of color a chance to meet and network with employers to learn about potential opportunities from companies that are recruiting diverse workforces.

Businesses that are scheduled to have recruiting and information booths include: Alliant Energy, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Cobalt Corp., Deloitte & Touche, Direct Supply Healthcare Equipment, Ecolab, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, INROADS, Inc., Kimberly-Clark Corp, Madison Police Department, Madison School & Community Recreation, Marshall & Ilsley Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Palmer Chiropractic Colleges, PanVera Corporation, Peace Corps, Philip Morris U.S.A., Promega Corporation, Public Allies Milwaukee, Target Corporation-Marshall Field’s, Target Corporation-Mervyn’s, Target Corporation-Target Stores, Teach For America, U.S. Department of Labor, US Geological Survey, UW–Madison Human Resources, Walgreens and WEA.

Door prizes and donations will be given away at the reception following the fair.

An “Interview Preparation Workshop” with Ruben Anthony Jr. of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, who is an alumnus of UW–Madison, will be held from 3-4 p.m. in the Langdon Room, Memorial Union.

The Multicultural Career Fair and Reception is sponsored by the College of Letters and Science, Letters and Science and Human Ecology Career Services, the Multicultural Student Center, the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and the School of Business Career Center.
