Morgan picked for Olympic Academy of Sciences

William P. Morgan, professor of kinesiology and an international authority on sport psychology, has been selected to be a founding member of the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Academy of Science.

Morgan joined the UW–Madison faculty in 1978 and is currently the director of the UW–Madison Sport Psychology Laboratory . He has conducted research with elite athletes, including Olympians, and is known for his work at the interface of psychology and biology as it relates to exercise, sports and mental health.

He is the author or co-author of more than 100 scholarly papers and the editor or co-editor of four books. Previously, he has won numerous awards and citations, including election to fellowship in the American Psychological Association.
