Honored

David Mladenoff, professor in the Department of Forest Ecology and Management, was awarded a Beers-Bascom professorship. The appointment lasts five years with a possibility of reappointment.

Barry Orton, professor of telecommunications in the Department of Professional Development and Applied Studies, was honored with a Life Membership by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisers for his significant contributions and achievements. NATOA, an organization of local government telecommunications professionals, was founded in 1980 at a conference in Madison directed by Orton.
